主讲人: Hongbin Liu, King’s College London, UK

主讲人简介:

Dr. Hongbin Liu is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at the Centre for Robotics Research, Department of Informatics, King’s College London (KCL), UK. His research interests include robotic tactile sensing and perception, haptic interaction and control, and soft robotics. His research focuses on creating mechatronics devices and algorithms to enhance robotic perception in the biomedical robotic applications. His expertise includes multi-model sensing based robot perception, adaptive control for robotic contact, mechanical modelling of flexible and bio-inspired soft robotics, and mechatronics system design for medical robotics. He received the B.S. degree in 2005 from the Northwestern Polytechnique University, China, the MSc in Mechatronics (2006) and PhD in Robotics (2010) from Kings College London, UK. He received the Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Students Abroad in 2009. He has authored or coauthored more than 50 refereed research papers in the field of robotic.

报告摘要:

In this presentation, he will talk about his research in develop robotics systems and algorithms for enhanced robotic perception. He will introduce the development of tactile and stiffness sensing robotic devices and the soft tissue modelling for minimally invasive surgery. He will introduce the tactile perception and the interaction modelling for robotic hand grasping. Several algorithms have been developed to interactive contact with the object and estimate various physical attributes, such as the shape, pose and texture. He will also introduce some recent development on an elastic-mesh braided worm robot, which aims to provide a simple solution for peristaltic locomotion and examination for endoscopy.
