Fully Funded PhD Studentship
Institution: National Centre for Computer Animation, Bournemouth University, UK.
Closing Date: 31 May, 2012
Project: Efficient character modelling based on sketched feature curves
Summary:
Character modelling is widely applied in creative industries, especially in computer animation and game industry which is one of the fastest growing industries and has a significant contribution to economy development. The quick growth of computer animation and game industry and wide applications of character modelling in creative industries require producing realistic character models more easily and efficiently.
This exciting and multi-disciplinary project aims to develop a new, simple and efficient modelling approach and easy to learn and use software environment. The main idea of this proposed research is to use few feature curves and our developed algorithms to reduce manual operations and produce realistic character models quickly and easily.
Duration: 36 months
Grant: £14,000 per annum + a waiver of the full-time research student fee.
